Good site! I've plucked up the courage to acquire a kiln for fusing/slumping. Any hints? ideas? Already had classes and produced some dishes. What would be a good first kiln- I like large dishes, but nothing with much height.

Hi, I am considering subscribing to your newsletter. My daughter is only 16, but has been taking glass courses with some artists in Chicago and Wisconsin. We are looking into college possibilities and would like to know if your newsletter ever has information about schools and higher education. Also, do you offer a student rate since she is only 16? I am considering getting a sub for her for xmas.

Thanks for your prompt reply

Great site!
five year glass artist
experienced in many processes I just picked up lampworking and love the versitality. But what can we do about the bitter feelings that segregate furnace blowers and torchworkers both are a challenge and have their own unique rewards.

I know very little about glassblowing but from the looks of your interesting website it is very appealing to me. I would love for people to write to me at the adress above and talk about glassblowing and how they got into it. Please ignore the other message from my school, CrowcroftO, they are just being cynical. Thanks for your website once again, most interesting, Paul

I have been searching high and low for someone to help me make some glass animals. Do you have any idea how HARD it is to find a glass artist if you don't KNOW any? Then I began to think, maybe I could learn to do it myself? Is there anybody out there (near San Francisco) who would be willing to talk to an enthusiastic (but timid) neophyte? Please?

So, I have to pay HOW MUCH to peruse an article in your publication from two years ago? I was trying to research Glass Torch Technologies' products prior to making a major investment. I'd appreciate any assistence in this endeavor; perhaps the folks at G.T.T. would also appreciate the referral and the business. As I own no computer, the best way to contact me is by telephone at (541) 683-6204. Thank you very much. In glass we trust, KLAUS

It's to bad there isn't an easy way to find the original posting of thsoe emails everyone is responding to! I've got some good information that lots of the glass workers could probably use, but I've NEVER been able to find an original posting to reply to! I do believe you need a LOT better search program, because the one you have stinks!

This is a great site - a brilliant resource for anyone using glass in their designs.
I run the largest graduate design event in the UK - New Designers - and we have a special section dedicated to glass. If anyone would like to have a complimentary ticket to the event (July 6-9), feel free to email me. Usually it costs 12 pounds, so this a fantastic offer to see the very latest graduate designers in glass!

Hello to All: I only recently tripped over this site so to speak and I love it! The message board is something else - it remembers your name - it prepares your name and email ready to post and it even points out which messages are new since the last time you visited as it welcomes you. Just great! Bet it helps control those not so nice posts that sometimes happen as well. That's my two cents and I'm off to see some of the things I haven't had time to visit yet! Really neat!
